smartwatch A small smartphone like device worn on the wrist. Many smartwatches are connected to a smartphone that notifies the user of incoming calls, e-mail messages, and notifications from applications. Some smartwatches can even make telephone calls. Many smartwatches have colour displays, but some inexpensive models use a black-and-white “e-paper” display. The user can operate the smartwatch through a touch screen, physical buttons, or a combination of the two. Some smartwatches come with pedometers and heart-rate monitors to help users track their health.
They don’t just tell the time
Many people prefer wearing a watch. The purpose is either functional (simply telling the time) or it’s because it’s fashionable. A good watch looks great on someone’s wrist.
A travel buddy right on your wrist
The Apple Watch, for example, is able to deliver different vibrations to your wrist to tell you if you should turn right or left when following directions. Instead of constantly looking at a smartphone, for example, you are able to follow an invisible guide that informs you where to go. Look up and take in the scenery instead of staring at a map.
Finding a phone, key or device is even easier
As you well know, losing a phone or keys is an extremely frustrating experience. It always seems to happen before some important occasion that we just can’t be late for!
Content comes in all shapes and sizes and can be made up of various content types. Text, icons, color, images and video. Your brief is to design three screens for a smartwatch app. This could be to manage fitness, water intake, payments, children tracker.
Requirements
Thinking of what to design for i decided to design a smart watch app for the translink bus services, for those who would like to have there experience on a smartwatch. Mostly for reminder for bus schedules. I worked on a mind map to give me ideas on what to design and i settled with transportation and travel.
